Evaluation of Metaverse Server in a Widely-Distributed Environment

چکیده
”Metaverse” is a new service connecting to three dimensional virtual space constructed as electronic data through the Internet, which is expected to be spread in the future. Although metaverse is expected as a promising platform for information exchange and communication among Internet users, it has several shortcomings such as requiring relatively high-performance client terminals and its long response time in some cases. We have analyzed the problem of the response time from a viewpoint of load of the server in order to make an efficient and high-performance server. OpenSim server that provides the metaverse service with open source software has been constructed and evaluated. In this paper, we have made OpenSim server in grid mode to analyze distributed metaverse service. We have evaluated metaverse server performance during the phase of user login to metaverse service and teleport from one region to another. That is to say, we have focused on a server side of metaverse system, analyzed its behavior, and clarified the cause of its long response time. A Scalable Server for 3D Metaverses
Metaverses are three-dimensional virtual worlds where anyone can add and script new objects. Metaverses today, such as Second Life, are dull, lifeless, and stagnant because users can see and interact with only a tiny region around them. Current metaverses impose this distance restriction in order to scale to large worlds, as the restriction avoids appreciable shared state in underlying distribu...
متن کاملSeparating indexes from data: a distributed scheme for secure database outsourcing
Database outsourcing is an idea to eliminate the burden of database management from organizations. Since data is a critical asset of organizations, preserving its privacy from outside adversary and untrusted server should be warranted. In this paper, we present a distributed scheme based on storing shares of data on different servers and separating indexes from data on a distinct server. Shamir...

This paper analyzes a discrete-time $Geo/Geo/c$ queueing system with multiple working vacations and reneging in which customers arrive according to a geometric process. As soon as the system gets empty, the servers go to a working vacations all together. The service times during regular busy period, working vacation period and vacation times are assumed to be geometrically distributed. Customer...
متن کاملAn Application-Oriented Approach for Distributed System Modeling and Simulation
Complexity of applications operating in a network environment has been considerably increased, since numerous architectural models, such as the client/server model and its extensions, have lately emerged. When dealing with distributed applications, network modeling is not so demanding and modeling solutions for widely used network components are already adopted by commercial tools. In this pape...
متن کاملAn Adaptive Load Balancing Management for Distributed Virtual Environment Systems
Distributed Virtual Environment Systems are widely used in massively multiplayer online games. With an efficient distributed architecture and load balancing algorithm, they can support tens of thousands of players interacting with each other. In this paper, we propose an adaptive load balancing algorithm to solve the problem of the center-crowdedness in the DVE systems, while reducing the intra...
